A street performer in Rajini’s iconic look carries the spirit of the Superstar with pride, despite struggles and society’s judgment. His passion for his craft and the quiet support from his wife make him a hero in his own right.

"Koothadigal" – The Man Who Lives Rajini’s Spirit
Under the hot sun, in the middle of the busy streets, he stands—his face painted and his clothes matching the Superstar. But beyond the costume, beyond the performance, there’s a man who carries Rajini sir’s spirit, not just in appearance, but in his heart.
"Koothadigal na make-up iruntha oru mariyathai irukum, make-up illa na irukathu..." He says with a smile that hides years of struggle. "There’s a different kind of respect when we wear makeup, and without it, it’s not the same." He knows that respect often comes with the mask but fades once it’s gone. Yet, he continues, because he is not just playing a part; he is living the essence of it.
For 18 years, his wife, Brindha, has been his quiet support. Her words, “Everything will be fine,” echo in his heart like a Rajini dialogue, pushing him forward during difficult times. Society may judge and look down on him, but his passion never dims. "Namma Rajini vaeshathula irukom… aana namba oru koothadi nadigan dhana," he says. "Even though we are in Rajini’s getup, we are still just street theater artists." He’s aware of the reality but chooses to embrace his art with pride.
Then there are the moments that make it all worth it. A stranger asks for a photo, or a child’s face lights up with admiration. These small gestures of recognition remind him that respect may not always be loud, but it’s always there.
Like the waves that keep coming back to the shore, he stays true to his passion, never letting go of his craft. "Vazhkai la yaaru enna ninaicha enna? Namma kanava vida koodathu!" (What does it matter what the world thinks? We must never let go of our dreams!) His story isn’t just about acting; it’s about resilience, love, and believing in something bigger than oneself.
And that, in itself, makes him a true hero.
